An employee at a local Stop & Shop warehouse has tested positive for COVID-19.

A Stop & Shop spokesperson has confirmed to Fall River Reporter that there has been one associate at their Freetown distribution warehouse, located at 136 South Main Street, that has tested positive for COVID-19.

The warehouse has gone through a cleaning and employees who have come in close contact have been quarantined, according to the spokesperson.

“We have conducted an extensive deep cleaning of the entire warehouse and every surface possible in strict accordance with guidelines from the CDC and state and local public health officials. The associate will not return to work until cleared by public health officials as no longer contagious for COVID-19.”

“Out of an abundance of caution, any associates who had been in close contact with the affected associate have been asked to self-quarantine, and we are continuing to insist that any other associates who feel sick at any time stay home.”

It has been confirmed that there are currently no cases of COVID-19 at Stop & Shop locations in Fall River.

“Nothing is more important to us than the health of our customers and associates, and we are continuing to implement extensive measures to help ensure all our stores and facilities are safe. Grocery stores are viewed as an essential service at this time, and all our associates in the warehouse and stores continue to go above and beyond to serve our communities.”

Stop & shop warehouse is telling you what they want to tell you but I work there and there is at least eight or more people positive with the coronavirus that we know of not calling the people that eaten work for coming in contact with these people did not being safe showing really that much concern about their employees nobody’s checking people at the door meme is over like for 500 people that come to them doors each day it’s a No-No close contact which there is all day long so you should be concerned about the community because if people are infected there and I’m not checking anybody we also ship food to all these communities that’s over 242 stores I just concerned about my safety which day ain’t even shown me any concerns about my welfare but I still have to go home at the end of the day to my family my kids which I don’t want to try to get sick myself or bring it home I just think people should be looking into stop & shop warehouse and making sure that date do more to keep their employees safe and the community

This article is a bunch of bull. The company does not make employees self quarantine. There was 1 death that was because they did not have people quarantine and an associate’s mother caught it and passed. This company is all about the $$$, they don’t “scrub” the place clean. It’s all a farce.
