With Baker announcing his plan to open up the state, overall COVID-19 numbers continue decline

With Governor Baker outlining his plan for reopening the state’s economy, COVID-19 numbers continue to trend in the positive direction overall.

Massachusetts has seen 1,042 more positive cases in the last 24 hours. A decrease from the previous 24 hour period.

The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total cases to 87,052 with 65 more reported dead for a total of .

Massachusetts had seen 1,077 more positive cases in the previous 24 hour period.

Testing continues to be ramped up as 8,373 tests were performed, over 4,300 less than the total released yesterday, to increase the overall total to 469,199.

Hospitalizations continue to decrease in Massachusetts.

In a 11:00 a.m. news conference, Baker outlined his new Stay-at-home Advisory, along with when beaches, parks, and businesses are expected to open.

According to the CDC, as of May 18th, the total amount of cases in the country is 1,480,349 with 89,407 dead.
