While the Fall River area feels like summer, you will have to wait a little for pools and splash pads
With warmer temperatures arriving, several spots for residents to cool off will be opening in the coming weeks.
The splash pad at Father Travasso’s Park is typically scheduled to open shortly after Fall River schools break for summer vacation. Normally, the opening date would be July 1 which is the start of the new fiscal year. There have been times where splash pads have opened early in Fall River due to excessive heat, but it is unclear if that will be happening this year.
The Veterans Memorial Pool at 339 Eastern Ave in Fall River is scheduled to open on June 26th. Pool hours are from 11:15 a.m. to–6:45 p.m. seven days a week.
According to the Department of Conservation and Recreation, effective through Tuesday, August 24, 2021, DCR will implement a closure of the Freetown State Forest Wading Pool in the Freetown State Forest in the Town of Freetown to accommodate reconstruction work.
The wading pool will reopen following the completion of reconstruction work and the closure will be clearly marked with signage.
