West Bridgewater Police Department conducted a distracted driving operation. 124 were stopped and 70 were cited for distracted driving in just a three hour span.

West Bridgewater Chief Victor Flaherty wants this to be a steady reminder to those who are distracted while operating a motor vehicle. Not only are you breaking the law but you are placing yourself and those around you at risk of injury or worse, even death. Don’t be distracted, It can WAIT.

It seems in today’s world, people feel the urge to constantly surf the internet, text, and send emails, and in return must instantly reply. The problem with this thinking is they see no issue doing it while operating a vehicle.

On a scale of 1 to 10, how big of an issue do you think distracted driving is?

It baffles me how much texting I see on the highway! It’s scary… I’m always blowing my horn to get their attention away from texting. It’s so dangerous. No text is worth a life!

Not worth the effort if they only gave out warnings.
