Warwick Police looking for man who approached child after drop off
Warwick Police are looking for the public’s help in identifying a man involved in an incident with a child.
According to Officer Michael Gilbert, on Friday January 3rd, at about 10:30 p.m., the Warwick Police Department responded to a King Street residence in response to a suspicious person complaint from earlier in the day.
Officers learned that at approximately 3:30 p.m., a white male in his 30’s attempted to speak to a child who had just been dropped off by a school bus. It appeared that when another person walked towards the male’s vehicle, he drove away, so it is unclear at this point what he was doing in the area. The male was described as possibly being bald, tall and skinny with a neck tattoo on the left side of his neck. His vehicle was only described as being black in color with tinted windows and having small dents in the side.
According to Gilbert, at this point it appears that this is an isolated incident, but out of an abundance of caution, police are sharing this information and asking for assistance in an attempt to identify this male.
Detectives continue to investigate and any person with information related to this incident is asked to contact the Warwick Police Detective Division (401) 468-4233.
