Voters give go ahead for expansion of massive entertainment complex
There was some good news last night for Joseph Estrela and the fans of his planned entertainment complex.
At last night’s Swansea town meeting, the majority of voters approved a zoning change that will allow the expansion of the Silver Stone Castle Family Entertainment complex.
Owner and president Joseph Estrela was happy with the news. “The meeting went very well. We received the ruling that we needed and we can proceed without any issue.” Now that Estrela owns the property at 358 G.A.R. Highway, work has been started on the huge entertainment complex. They have started the clean up and demolition needed for the space for the building. Estrela has also been working with an architect and will hopefully have color renderings for the building.
The complex will be a medieval castle full of family entertainment.
The 3-5 million dollar 80,000 square foot complex will contain fun for all ages including a two story go cart track, laser tag arena, bumper cars, dance floor, stage for musical acts, and an area for pub style food. Part of an 8,000 square foot indoor heated pool will have a cathedral ceiling. Estrela is also considering having kayaking available in the river.
The complex is expected to be finished in spring of 2020 pending approvals. However, it is expected to be completed in two stages. The first stage is hoped to be completed by the end of 2019.
Estrela was in front of the Board of Selectmen at the end of January for an All Alcohol On Premise license.
