According to David Procopio of the Massachusetts State Police, at approximately 10:20 p.m. Tuesday, a motorcycle struck and briefly dragged an MSP Trooper while the Trooper was attempting to speak to that motorcyclist and a second motorcyclist at the Shell gas station on Route 138 in Canton. State Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying the suspects in the incident.

The motorcycles sped away from the Trooper, who was dragged a short distance by one of the bikes. The Trooper was dragged from the area of the pumps out into Route 138. He sustained minor injuries.

The Trooper was attempting to speak to the motorcyclists because State Police had received a report of motorcycles racing in the area.

Anyone who recognizes either motorcyclist, or who has information about the incident, is asked to contact the State Police-Milton Barracks at (617) 698-5840.

Canton firefighters treated the Trooper at the scene. The Trooper declined transport to a hospital and remained on the job.
