UPDATE: One person dead in Tiverton fire Monday
Several firefighter crews responded to a fire at a Tiverton home Monday.
At approximately 5:15 p.m., a call came in for heavy fire from the roof at Church Pond Drive with a report of one person trapped inside.
According to the Middletown Fire Department who was covering Tiverton Station 3, the fire was a 2 alarm.

Neighbors and scanner transmissions stated that there was one male in the home. The person was transported to Saint Anne’s Hospital.
According to the Deputy State Fire Marshal and WJAR 10, the person who was transported to the hospital has died.
The person’s name has not yet been released.
