A driver was killed Monday after a fiery crash in Seekonk.

According to Gregg Milotte of the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, Richard Carlson, 36, of Pawtucket was driving a Ford Explorer and was apparently travelling at a high rate of speed when he lost control of his vehicle while travelling north on Arcade Avenue near Scott Road.

The vehicle drove over several lawns, striking a large bolder and a tree. The engine caught fire after the crash, but was quickly extinguished by first responders.

Milotte stated that no one else was injured or involved in the crash.
