UPDATE: Fall River Police issue update concerning playground incident
The Fall River Police Department received new information concerning a suspect concerning a possible playground assault.
According to Detective Sergeant Moses Pereira, on Monday, at approximately 11:45 a.m. officers responded to the Kennedy Park playground after receiving a report of an unknown male assaulting a child.
Upon arrival, the child’s mother explained that an unknown male attempted to physically remove her daughter from the monkey bars while she was playing. The child’s mother had to intervene and remove the male’s hands from her daughter. The male then left the area on foot headed north toward Broadway.
Pereira stated that after speaking with eyewitnesses regarding this incident, police have been able to determine that the unidentified man was seen picking the child up and assisting her onto the monkey bars. Shortly thereafter, the child’s mother observed him with her child on the monkey bars and intervened.
Investigators continue to seek out the identity of the man in order to speak with him regarding the incident.
The investigation has been assigned to Det. Nicholas Custadio of the Major Crimes Division. Anyone with information regarding the identity of the male suspect is asked to contact Det. Custadio at 508-676-8511 ext. 259. Anonymous tips can be provided at 508-672-TIPS (8477).

there is no misunderstanding, you do not touch someone else’s child, and when the mother comes over asking WTF you are doing, you don’t force her to pry your hands off HER CHILD.

We are living in a sad and crazy world. Eyewitnesses didn’t feel he was suspicious after speaking to eyewitnesses but still you want to condemn him for helping a little girl onto the monkey bars.. ruin a man’s life. It’s a wonder why so many people won’t help others.
