Unleash your inner artist at the Fall River Public Library
The Fall River Public Library presents a free, hands-on acrylic painting workshop for beginners through experienced painters.
The Fall River Public Library presents a free, hands-on acrylic painting workshop for beginners through experienced painters. The painting class will be held on Wednesday, May 2 at 6 p.m. at the Fall River Public Library, 104 North Main Street in Fall River. Participants will paint a FINISHED 16” x 20” acrylic painting on canvas in one class, using fun and easy-to-learn techniques that enable even first-time artists to paint fast and to paint well!
Leading the class will be local mixed media artist Lori Bradley, whose work has been shown in Gallery X in New Bedford, Hatch Street Open Studios, the Fuller Museum, Berkshire Arts Festival, and many other galleries and exhibits. A graduate of U Mass Dartmouth and the Massachusetts College of Art, she teaches art and design at Bridgewater State University.
Bradley’s unique approach combines the expert instruction of costly art-for-credit classes and the easygoing fun of a painting party. Rather than copying a famous picture, students learn to paint from a subject that inspires them. Participants are invited to bring their own photo reference, or use one of ours.
This beginner-friendly class is free, and all materials are provided. The painting workshop is limited to 25 participants. It is expected to fill quickly, so please call the library at 508-324-2700, ext. 2, to ensure your place in the class. You may also sign up at the front desk. The February 28th pastel workshop and April 4th acrylic workshop are already full.
This project is made possible with support from the Friends of the Fall River Public Library.
For further information contact Kate Kulpa at 508-324-2700, ext. 110, or visit the library’s website at fallriverlibrary.org.
