Two terrifying Massachusetts destinations make top 15 scariest haunted places list

According to a report, two Massachusetts locations have been ranked one of the scariest haunted places in the United States.

Far & Wide released a list of their most terrifying destinations.

Coming in at #14 is House of Seven Gables on Derby Street in Salem. Here is what the website for travelers had to say.

Its timeworn architecture and hidden chambers beckon visitors through its doors, where past and present collide, and every creaking floorboard seems to carry the weight of the centuries.”

“Salem, Massachusetts, is associated with the Salem Witch Trials of the late 17th century and is recognized as a hub of paranormal interest. Tourists can partake in various ghost tours and visit attractions and museums that highlight the supernatural aspects of Salem, where reports of ghostly encounters are not uncommon.”

The next spot at #13 was handed to Fall River’s Lizzie Borden House.

Lizzie was the primary suspect in the murders. She was arrested and tried for the crimes that attracted nationwide attention. The Lizzie Borden House has drawn the ire of some residents as of late after filing a lawsuit against Miss Lizzie’s Coffee shop next door on Second Street, however, it remains a very popular destination.
