The National Weather Service is forecasting snow to impact portions of the state at two different times in the next few days.
Today (Monday): Accumulating snow is likely today into this evening in areas of eastern Massachusetts, particularly along the coast. Most areas will receive a coating to 2”, but some coastal areas may receive 2” to 4” with up to 6” possible in some areas to the south of Boston. Any snow should end by midnight.
Late Tuesday into Wednesday afternoon: Although the timing of the snow is still uncertain, a Winter Storm Watch has been posted for late Tuesday into Wednesday afternoon for areas of western, central and northeastern Massachusetts that may see 4” to 7” of snow. Lesser amounts of snow are expected in southeastern MA where some areas may see a mixture of rain and snow. Wednesday morning’s commute may be impacted and the snow is likely to end before the Wednesday afternoon commute.
