Two injured, one critically, after rollover crash in Tiverton
Crews responded to a serious crash in Tiverton Sunday that has injured two people, one critically.
According to Sergeant Jessica Anderson, at just after 6:15 p.m., the Tiverton Police Department responded to a rollover motor vehicle accident on Stone Church Road in the area of Sylvia Road.
Upon arrival, officers located the vehicle in the woods with two occupants. The operator, a 25-year-old male, was extricated from the vehicle utilizing the Jaws of Life by Tiverton Fire Department and transported to Rhode Island Hospital via MedFlight in critical condition. The front passenger, a 27-year-old male, self-extricated from the vehicle and sustained minor, non-life-threatening injuries.
Preliminary Investigation revealed that the vehicle was traveling north on Stone Church Road and left the roadway for reasons unknown at this time.
The accident remains under investigation by members of the Tiverton Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team and Detective Division.
