Two injured in crash on Route 24 in Freetown Saturday
A man is lucky to be alive after a single car crash Saturday evening on Route 24.
Freetown and Fall River personnel along with Massachusetts State Police, responded to a crash on Route 24 North in Freetown at approximately 9:50 p.m.
Responders found a vehicle that went off the road and hit a large sign post with one male and one female trapped in the vehicle. Freetown Fire believes that the two individuals are in their late 30’s to early 40’s.
Those who were on scene rescued the female quickly, however, personnel needed an hour to remove the male due to a difficult extraction.
Both parties were transported with injuries to Rhode Island Hospital, however, the injuries were not believed to be serious. According to Freetown Fire officials, the male was very fortunate and was located in the only spot that he could have survived the crash.
The crash is still under investigation.
