Two dogs die before Christmas in 2 alarm Tiverton blaze
The Tiverton Fire Department, in addition to several local departments, battled a serious fire Thursday afternoon.
An initial call came into dispatch at approximately 3:40 p.m. for a fire at 22 Cherry Lane in Tiverton.
Upon arrival, crews discovered heavy fire in two rooms on the first floor which then extended to the attic.
Fall River, Dartmouth, Westport, and Little Compton Fire Departments were among those who provided mutual aid to put out the flames.
The fire was brought under control in approximately 1 hour.
No injuries were reported, however, two dogs were trapped in the home and were determined deceased.
While scanner transmissions stated that a candle fell in the home, the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
