Portsmouth Police arrested an individual after a two car crash Tuesday night.
According to Detective Lieutenant Michael C. Arnold, at approximately 6:47 p.m., Officers were advised to BOLO for a vehicle that was traveling from Bristol heading towards the Mt Hope Bridge. The vehicle was described as a red Toyota which was operating erratically, traveling between lanes, and fluctuating between various speeds.
As Officers were traveling to the area, the vehicle collided with another vehicle that was traveling in the west bound lane, coming to a rest next to the railing of the bridge. According to witnesses, the suspect vehicle was travelling east bound from Bristol on the Mt Hope Bridge, crossed the double yellow lines and struck a vehicle travelling west bound. Cupolo was placed under arrest for DUI based on observations, personal contact and witness statements. Cupolo was transported to the hospital for her injuries. No other injuries were reported during the investigation.
Upon arrival at the hospital Cupolo refused any additional testing and was released from custody with a summons to appear in 2nd District Court.
