DIGHTON — Chief Robert MacDonald reports that the Dighton Police Department arrested a man and a woman early this morning on larceny and other charges following an alleged burglary at a Dighton business.

Dighton Police responded to Zeke’s Custom Wheels, 1988 Winthrop Street, at approximately 4 a.m. today, after receiving multiple reports of suspicious activity.

Upon arrival, officers found Justin Belliveau, 40, and Rachael Martin, 27, both of North Dighton, in the rear of Zeke’s Custom Wheels near a truck loaded full of scrap metal and other items. Through the subsequent investigation, it was determined that Belliveau and Martin had stolen the items in the truck.

Belliveau and Martin were arrested and charged with Larceny from a Building, Possession of Burglarious Tools, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, and Trespassing with a Motor Vehicle.

At the time of their arrest, Belliveau and Martin were found to be in possession of a double-edged knife and a samurai-type sword.

Belliveau and Martin are expected to be arraigned in Taunton District Court today.
