Twin River Tiverton Casino moves up opening date

Tiverton, Rhode Island: Twin River Management Group (TRMG) announced today that it has moved up the opening date of the Tiverton Casino Hotel to September 1, 2018, one month in advance of the target opening date of October 1st.

According to John E. Taylor, Jr., chairman of TRMG, construction crews have made tremendous progress over the winter months, despite the weather, allowing the company to open earlier than anticipated. “We’re grateful that the construction team on the job have really dug in and allowed for this accelerated opening date,” said Mr. Taylor.”

He continued, “Much of the exterior work on the casino and hotel is completed. For the casino, we are enclosing spaces and painting, the ceiling grid is being installed and light fixtures and security cameras are also actively being installed. The restaurant area is taking shape and the food court is just about ready for coolers and other serving fixtures. With respect to the hotel, the rooms are in the process of being dry-walled and within the coming month, we’ll be tiling bathrooms and painting. Last, the garage is scheduled to be completed within the next month or so.”

He also underscored that the roundabout on Stafford Road will also be complete by opening date, most likely even earlier. “We project an August completion date for the roundabout which we know is of tremendous interest to the Tiverton and nearby Fall River communities, and as promised, we will not open the casino before we complete this important road project.”

Once complete, Tiverton Casino Hotel, a Twin River property, will feature 32 table games, up to 1,000 slots. Mr. Taylor concluded, “We have partnered with Luciano Canova to open Trattoria Romano, a full service Italian Chophouse restaurant, and we are also opening a market Square that will feature such national brands as Mooyah Burgers, Pie Five Pizza, and local Rhode Island favorite, Jacky’s Galaxie. We will also have a Dunkin Donuts operation on the property.”

Trattoria Romano is an Italian sit down restaurant with a wide array of Italian favorites. It will include a Chop House within the 50-60 seat restaurant. Here is a look at their Lincoln RI location: Trattoria Romana

Tiverton Casino is also expected to be equipped to handle sports betting if legalized.

The attached 84-room hotel will feature meeting space and a fitness center.
