Tiverton Police talk man out of committing suicide
Tiverton Police officers possibly saved a man’s life last week.
According to Tiverton Police, On Thursday, August 6th, TPD received a call from a father stating that his 20-year-old son had left their home intending to jump from the Sakonnet River Bridge.
Dispatchers Christopher Gagner and Brittany Pierce confirmed the location of the son’s cell phone by requesting an emergency trace through information provided by the father.
Officers located the son’s vehicle and found him walking towards the center of the bridge. Officers Sean Frodyma, Jonathan Cunningham, and Steven Parrillo approached and began a conversation with the man confirming his intention to possibly harm himself.
Officers were able to convince the man to walk away from the bridge and go with the officers to seek help.
