On Tuesday, December 26th, Cardis Construction reported the theft of a Caterpillar backhoe from the Tiverton Casino site. The backhoe has an estimated worth of over $100,000. The backhoe was then recovered on Thursday. Jason L. Brayton, 43, of 765 Brayton Road Tiverton, RI was arrested and charged with Felony Larceny in regards to the theft. Detectives Dan Martin and Joshua Pelletier along with Officers Matt Braun and Kurt Ripke worked on the case.
Brayton was arraigned yesterday at Tiverton Police Department Headquarters and was released on bail. The case will be referred to the Attorney General’s office for prosecution.
