Tiverton High School dismissed due to odor
An unidentified odor was reported this morning near the Tiverton High School cafeteria.
According to school officials, the Tiverton Fire Department was called to check the building. Out of an abundance of caution the building was evacuated and the Fire Department is checking the building.
Tiverton Fire Department’s instrumental readings have so far resulted in negative readings for any potentially harmful gases.
Due to the time that is necessary for the Tiverton Fire Department to thoroughly inspect the building, the school department decided to dismiss students within the Tiverton High School only, for the remainder of the day.
All other Tiverton schools will be adhering to their normal school schedule.
