Tiverton Fire Department recognizes two long time members who retired this week
The Tiverton Fire Department has recognized Captain Robert Gagnon and Captain Craig Committo as they are both retiring from the Department.
According to the Tiverton Fire Department, Captain Gagnon began his full-time career with the Tiverton Fire Department on September 11, 1995. He served as a volunteer for many years prior to being hired full time. Captain Gagnon rose through the ranks within the Fire Department. He was responsible for apparatus maintenance for several years. His final assignment was Shift Commander of A shift, working his final shift on December 29th.
Captain Committo began his full-time career with the Tiverton Fire Department on June 19, 1998. He also served as a volunteer for many years prior to being hired full time. Captain Committo rose through the ranks within the Fire Department, ultimately serving as the Acting Chief. He served as the Union President for Local 1703 for many years. He has also been responsible for station maintenance for several years. Captain Committo’s final assignment was Shift Commander of B shift, working his final shift on December 30th.
The Department wished both Captains a long and healthy retirement and thanked them for their commitment and dedication to the citizens of Tiverton and the Tiverton Fire Department.
