Tiverton Casino looking at delay in opening, roundabout being built

Tiverton Casino looking at delay in opening

It looks like the Twin River Casino in Tiverton is getting delayed, but the delay may not be as long as perceived.

In a statement we received from Twin River, the possible delay is explained.

Attorney Russo  recently presented some scheduling possibilities to the Tiverton Casino Sub Committee.  His assessment reflected the physical challenges of the site, the in–depth zoning and planning process which occurred after the referendum and the wishes of the town to restrict hours of construction operations.  That said, we have stated repeatedly that once the building is enclosed, which we hope is in December of this year, we will know with greater certainty the casino opening date. If we can advance the likely October 2018 opening date, we will.

Once complete, Tiverton Casino, a Twin River property, will feature 32 table games, up to 1,000 slots, a full service restaurant as well as some express food options, a high-energy bar that will offer live entertainment, and valet parking. The attached 84-room hotel will feature meeting space and a fitness center.

A roundabout is also currently being built to help with traffic issues once the casino opens. Here is a rendering of what it should look like once complete. Photos are courtesy of Tiverton Casino.
