A threat was reported to Kuss Middle School in Fall River overnight.

A robo call came in to parents from principal Maria Pontes at approximately 7:10 a.m. Monday morning to inform them that there had been a threat on social media toward the school that police intercepted and that the threat had been deemed as not credible.

The call is as follows:

“This is principal Pontes calling from Kuss Middle School with a very important message. Very late last night I was notified that there was some social media activity of a potential threat to the school. Police intercepted it and are dealing with it as we speak. The FRPD does not believe this is a credible threat. As a result of their investigation last night and out of an abundance of caution we have put police prescence in place and our security team will have enchanced operational support in our building. Our number one priority is student and staff safety.”

Some witnesses stated that there was a form of police presence at the school this morning.

The call has left several parents upset as their children had been sent off to school before the notification and they would have left their child home.
