The Narrows Center announces December schedule of events
FALL RIVER— The Narrows Center offers another great roster of events during the month of December.
Here’s the December schedule of upcoming events. Doors open at 7pm and shows start at 8pm, unless otherwise noted.
Sat, Dec 1. Rawkstars 15th Anniversary Bash! Join us in celebration of 15 years of what we love most; music, family, and friends. This unique night will bring together Rawkstars, Inc., students, donors, supporters, teachers, and parents to showcase our collective bond. It’s an experience designed to thank each person who has made Rawkstars possible. $12 Advance. $15 Day of Show.
Thurs, Dec 6. Tribute to Blues Legend James Cotton. The world’s greatest blues harmonica players, guitar players, and singers pay tribute to James “Superharp” Cotton. This all star tribute will feature Bob Margolin (Muddy Waters Band), James Montgomery, Jerry Portnoy (Muddy Waters Band, Eric Clapton), Rick Estrin, Mark Hummel, Curtis Salgado, Paul Rishell and Anne Raines, Christine Ohlman (Saturday Night Live), the Uptown Horns, Paul Oscher (Muddy Waters), Kenny Neal, Cheryl Arenas, Darrell Nulisch (James Cotton). This show is a must for blues aficionados. $27 Advance. $30 Day of Show. $75 for VIP tickets, which includes a signed poster and Meet & Greet access.
Fri, Dec 7. Crash Test Dummies. This rock band will reunite for the first time in 17 years to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their seminal sophomore album, God Shuffled His Feet. The tour features the original lineup of Brad Roberts, Ellen Reid, Dan Roberts, and Mitch Dorge. $42 Advance. $47 Day of Show.
Thurs, Dec 13. Under the Covers. This is a long-running show featuring Jake Armerding, Rose Cousins, Mark Erelli, and Zachariah Hickman, that has traditionally played to sold out crowds at Cambridge’s venerable Club Passim for the past 13 years. Every once in awhile, they take it on the road for a few select shows outside of Boston. $27 Advance. $30 Day of Show.
Fri, Dec 14. Marc Broussard. Marc is an artist with a unique gift of channeling the spirits of classic R&B, rock, and soul into contemporary terms. His father, Louisiana Hall of Fame guitarist of “The Boogie Kings”, nurtured Marc’s musical gifts at an early age, and the vibrant Lafayette, LA music scene gave Marc the opportunity to practice his craft consistently from childhood through early adulthood. He still lives in Louisiana today. $37 Advance. $42 Day of Show.
Sat, Dec 15. Parsonsfield. Folk rock favorites known for their rich harmonies, vibrant songwriting, and energetic live performances. This quintet, praised for making “the most jubilant and danceable indie roots music this side of the Carolinas” (NPR), will perform a stripped-down, intimate show, breathing Americana rock into their favorite holiday tunes and sprinkling their own songs with holiday flair. $25 Advance. $27 Day of Show.
Thurs, Dec 20. Paul Bielatowicz (of Carl Palmer’s ELP Legacy). Paul Bielatowicz, guitarist for Carl Palmer’s ELP Legacy, returns to the Narrows for a special solo show that combines music and film into one stunning performance. $22 Advance. $27 Day of Show.
Thurs, Dec 27. Quinn Sullivan. Quinn Sullivan has been a music professional for more than 75 percent of his life. He’s shared the stage with Buddy Guy, Eric Clapton, Los Lobos, The Roots, Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi, and Joe Bonamassa, and he opened for B.B. King. $27 Advance. $30 Day of Show.
Sat, Dec 29. Ward Hayden and the Outliers (formerly Girls Guns & Glory). Their love for early rock ’n’ roll, true country, raw blues, and pretty much any kind of authentic American music branded them as anomalous – and electrifying. Since that time they’ve barnstormed far beyond their Boston hometown, playing honky-tonks, beer joints, and more recently concert venues throughout the U.S. Rolling Stone described them as “modern-day Buddy Holly plus Dwight Yoakam divided by the Mavericks.” $23 Advance. $25 Day of Show.
Sun, Dec 30. Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds. Known far and wide an the impossibly big voiced leader of Sister Sparrow and the Dirty Birds, singer Arleigh Kincheloe has made an astonishing leap forward with Sister Sparrow’s new LP, GOLD. The Baltimore Sun says, “Arleigh Kincheloe has one of the biggest voices in the business. Prepare to be blown away.” $27 Advance. $30 Day of Show.
