Taunton Police update Assault to Murder incident
Taunton Police are continuing to investigate a stabbing that may now have a different suspect then originally thought.
On May 26 at 1:45 a.m., the Taunton Police Department responded to a stabbing in the parking lot behind 37 Weir Street. At that time the Taunton Police Department, based on victim and witness statements, placed twenty-nine year old Hector Rodriguez of Taunton under arrest and charged him with Assault to Murder and Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.
The Taunton Police Department has continued to investigate this incident. The investigation is now leading the Taunton Police Detective Division to believe that Hector Rodriguez may not be the person responsible for the stabbing on May 26.
