Taunton Police looking for gas station armed robbery suspect
TAUNTON — Chief Edward J. Walsh reports that the Taunton Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred Wednesday evening at a local gas station.
Taunton Police responded to the GeKo gas station, located on Weir Street, shortly before 8:30 p.m. for a report of a robbery. Upon arrival, officers were met by the store clerk, suffering from an apparent hand injury sustained in the incident.
The investigation indicates that an adult male suspect in his 40s or 50s robbed the store and fled on foot with the store’s cash register.
The clerk was taken to Morton Hospital for treatment.
The suspect may have also been injured in the incident.
Anyone with information on the incident or who may recognize the suspect pictured in store surveillance footage is asked to call Taunton Police at 508-824-7522.
