Taunton man wins “$50,000 a Year for Life” instant game
How would it feel to get $50,000 a year for life? Pretty good I would say, but a Taunton man was looking for some up front cash after winning the big prize.
Thomas Greenwood is the fourth grand prize winner in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$50,000 a Year for Life” instant game.
According to Massachusetts State Lottery, Greenwood chose the cash option on his prize and received a one-time payment of $770,000 (before taxes). He plans on using his winnings to buy a home and pay off his daughter’s tuition.
He purchased his winning ticket at County Liquors, 539 County St. in Taunton. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of the ticket.
One $50,000 a Year for Life prizes remains in the “$50,000 a Year for Life” $2 instant game.
