Street closure continues due to repaving needed from Fall River water main break

According to the Department of Community Utilities, the water main break that occurred on November 23rd that flooded several streets, caused extensive damage to the asphalt and sub-base of the downstream streets.

Due to the damage from the break, the block of Ray Street from Spruce to Hemlock shall remain closed until further notice.

The west side of Ray Street from Hemlock to Florence Street shall be posted as “No Parking” to allow passage of vehicles.

The intersection of Ray and Hemlock Street is reduced to one lane and should be avoided if possible.

The Department of Community Utilities is working with the Engineering Department to expedite the re-paving process of the effected streets to avoid as much inconvenience as possible.

It is anticipated that re-paving work will occur in the coming week.

The Department of Community Utilities asks to please avoid the area if possible.
