More workers at the Stop & Shop warehouse in Freetown have tested positive for COVID-19.

According to a spokesperson, Stop & Shop can confirm that three associates who work at the Freetown warehouse have tested positive for COVID-19 (coronavirus) and are currently self-quarantined.

“We conducted an extensive deep cleaning of the entire facility after we were notified of each individual instance in strict accordance with guidelines from the CDC and state and local public health officials. The associates will not return to work until cleared by public health officials as no longer contagious for COVID-19.”

“Any associates who had been in close contact with those affected have been asked to self-quarantine, and we are continuing to insist that any other associates who feel sick at any time stay home.”

Stop & Shop cannot confirm how many, if any, third party workers have tested positive for the coronavirus.

“There are also 3rd party companies that we work with at the warehouse for services like unloading, however Stop & Shop cannot provide information – particularly around the medical status – of individuals who are not our own associates.”

“We’re continuing to follow the guidance of the CDC and local health authorities and are doing everything we can to help ensure our stores and facilities are safe.”
