A weekend highway collision between a vehicle and pedestrian turned deadly in Rhode Island.
According to Rhode Island State Police, at just before 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, Troopers from the Rhode Island State Police Lincoln Woods Barracks received multiple 911 calls reporting a pedestrian walking in the lanes of travel on Route 95 North, near the exit 40 off-ramp in Pawtucket.

Upon arrival in the area, Troopers observed several vehicles in the right breakdown lane. Troopers also located a deceased male in the center lane. All vehicles involved remained on scene and cooperated with investigators.
The investigation is ongoing to identify the pedestrian struck, and no citations or criminal charges have been brought against any of the drivers.
