State Police investigating serious crash with multiple injuries on I-195 in Dartmouth
An early morning crash on Route 195 in the area of Exit 12 in Dartmouth resulted in serious injuries.
Preliminary investigation by Trooper Adam Rego indicates that at about 2:30 a.m., a 41-year-old man from Stratford, Connecticut was traveling on Route 195 Eastbound in a 2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse at a high rate of speed. The man lost control of the vehicle, causing it to crash into the guardrail. Following that impact, the man was ejected from the vehicle. A 2004 Dodge Ram, which was traveling eastbound in that area made slight contact with the Mitsubishi as it maneuvered to avoid a collision.
The operator of the Mitsubishi and his passenger, a 24-year-old Brockton woman, were both transported to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. No one in the Dodge was injured in the crash.
This crash remains under investigation with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section, and troopers assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office. No charges have been filed at this time.
State Police were assisted on scene by Dartmouth Fire and EMS and Dartmouth Police.
