State Police: Fall River teen injured in shooting while in Vermont

The Vermont State Police is investigating a shooting that occurred late Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at a private residence on Sampsonville Road in the town of Enosburg.

The investigation began when 911 received a call at 8:54 p.m. reporting the incident. Arriving first responders including the Vermont State Police found the victim, later identified as an 18-year-old man from Fall River, Massachusetts, who had suffered a gunshot wound to his lower body. The victim reported he was shot by an unknown individual who then fled on foot. A subsequent search of the area for the reported shooter was unsuccessful.

Enosburg EMS transported the victim to Northwestern Medical Center in St. Albans for treatment of his injuries, which are not believed to be life-threatening. The victim was later transferred to the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington.

Police did not release the name of the victim due to age.
