State Police Association of Massachusetts continues to stress Move Over Law after another Trooper hospitalized
The Massachusetts State Police Union is calling upon Troopers to vigorously enforce the Move Over Law as pleas to the motoring public are falling on deaf ears.
“We need to take action now before another first responder is seriously hurt or killed.”
According to the State Police Association of Massachusetts, last night another Trooper was struck and hospitalized after an operator failed to slow down and move over on Interstate 495 in Milford.
Thankfully this member sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
SPAM has become frustrated as MSP vehicles continue to be hit. Often while stationary.
“We have pleaded time and time again for operators in the Commonwealth to Slow Down and Move Over. We have done press conferences, launched public awareness campaigns, and even filed new legislation to increase the penalty. Even after all these pleas – our members are still being struck and injured while performing their duties roadside. It is simple – SLOW DOWN AND MOVE OVER!”
