State Police arrested man on multiple charges after reportedly driving the wrong way on Route 95
Police have arrested a local man that was reportedly driving the wrong way on the highway this morning.
According to State Police, just after 2:00 this morning, the Lincoln Woods Barracks received multiple 911 calls for a vehicle traveling southbound, on Route 95 North in the City of Pawtucket.
Troopers located the vehicle and were able to get it stopped in the construction area near the Smith Street overpass, in the City of Providence.
The operator of the vehicle was identified as 49-year-old Joey Fugere of Pawtucket. Fugere subsequently failed all field sobriety tests administered on scene and was placed into custody without incident.
Fugere consented to a blood test and was charged with Driving Under the Influence – 1st Offense (blood results pending) and Reckless Driving. He was later arraigned in front of a justice of the peace and released.
