State Police arrest woman for DUI three times over the legal limit with children in the car
Police arrested a woman on a DUI with children in the car.
According to Rhode Island State Police, Annique Harushimana, 24, of 104 Sayles Street, Woonsocket, Rhode Island was arrested on Friday, August 28, 2020, at 10:57 PM for Driving Under Influence of Intoxicating Liquor or Drugs – Child Passenger Under the age of 13.
Harushimana was arrested when Troopers stopped her car on Route 146 in Lincoln after receiving several reports of an erratic driver. She was allegedly operating the vehicle with no lights. The two young children in the vehicle were released into the custody of their father and DCYF was contacted and investigating. State Police allege her blood alcohol content was .277% and .271%, more than three times the legal limit.
The State Police urge anyone who sees a suspected impaired driver to call 911.
