Fall River & Wareham MA- Southcoast Health is looking for volunteers who are willing to help the region’s only community-based, not-for-profit health system serve patients.

“When you volunteer at Southcoast, you are helping your friends and neighbors,” said Donna Galotti-Kincman, Volunteer Manager at Tobey Hospital. “Your commitment enhances the health and well-being of our entire community. What better way is there to spend your time?”

Southcoast Health’s three hospitals, St. Luke’s, Charlton Memorial and Tobey, all have volunteer openings. Volunteers can staff the gift shop or act as greeters, welcoming visitors and patients and escorting people to their destination in the hospital. The work usually is done in morning, afternoon or evening shifts, depending on the volunteer’s availability.

Fred Furtado, of Somerset, enjoys serving as an Information Desk Volunteer at Charlton Memorial Hospital. “I felt it was time to give something back to the community,” said the retired travel agency business owner.

The minimum age for volunteering is 14 except for Tobey, which is seeking adult volunteers only at this time.
