Southern New England police officer dies of COVID-19 after weeks long battle
A southern New England police officer has succumbed to coronavirus.
Chief Michael E. Correia and the members of the Barrington Police Department announced today with heavy hearts the death of Sergeant Gino Caputo after a 5 week battle against COVID-19.
Sergeant Caputo, who was a 27 year veteran of the Department, died yesterday morning surrounded by his wife Cindy and Family members.
The department says that the funeral arrangements are forthcoming.
The BPD’s thoughts were with Caputo’s family.
“Please keep Cindy and his Family in your thoughts and prayers. Rest In Peace, Gino.”
