Somerset Police investigating early morning convenience store armed robbery
The Somerset Police Department is investigating an early morning armed robbery in the town.
According to Police Chief George McNeil, a white male, believed to be in his 40’s, entered the Cumberland Farms on Route 6 at about 12:50 a.m.
McNeil stated that the suspect walked around the store and picked up two energy drinks and then asked for a pack of cigarettes. He then brandished a razor/box cutter type knife at the clerk and demanded money.
After the robbery, the suspect fled the store and was last seen heading toward Lepes Road. The suspect was wearing tan pants and a blue sweatshirt. He also had a goatee.
The robbery was similar to the Seasons Corner Market Tuesday in Fall River, according to McNeil.
If you have any information on the robbery, contact the Somerset Police Department at (508) 679-2138.
