Somerset motorcycle rider in critical condition after collision with Amazon truck in Tiverton
Tiverton Police are investigating after a multi-vehicle crash caused serious injuries over the weekend.
According to Captain Michael Miguel, on Sunday at approximately 3:23 p.m., the Tiverton Police Department received a report of a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of East Rd. and Sylvia Rd.
Upon arrival, officers found the operator of a 2016 Harley Davidson Motorcycle, identified as 58-year-old Manuel Estrela of Somerset MA, suffering from serious injuries.
He was transported by Tiverton Rescue to St. Anne’s Hospital in Fall River MA. Estrela was later transferred to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence RI. He is currently listed in critical condition in the ICU.
Preliminary investigation revealed that Estrela was travelling east on East Rd. when his motorcycle struck an Amazon delivery truck. At the time of the collision, the truck was turning west onto East Rd. from Sylvia Rd.
