Somerset janitor arrested on child pornography charges
Somerset Police are reporting the arrest of a local janitor Wednesday night.
At about 9:30 last night a 34 year old man was arrested at Somerset-Berkley Regional High School. The man was a custodian at the school.
Miguel Pereira of Somerset is being charged with dissemination of child pornography and possession of child pornography. He has been employed by the school department for only a few weeks.
The investigation into this case began with investigators from the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task force locating child pornography being shared from the suspect’s IP address. A search warrant was executed at his home prior to his arrest.
He will be arraigned at the Fall River Justice Center later today.
