A familiar barbeque spot that recently moved to a train in Somerset is closing.

Missing Link BBQ opened in a trailer in Dartmouth in July of 2022 at 335 Old Fall River Road and operated there until December where they then moved “Rosie” to 938 Lees River Avenue while renovating the famous train on the property to be used as their new location.

Missing Link who is owned by Somerset residents Tom Lyon and Doug Moniz, made the move to provide customers with a better overall experience, more variety, and the comfort of indoor dining.

ML opened in the train on Wednesday, November 8th, 2023. They announced on Monday that they would soon be closing.

“It is with great sadness that we have to announce this, but after much deliberation and discussion, we have decided to close Missing Link BBQ. Unfortunately, we have been met with lots of obstacles that have led us to where we are today, but we wouldn’t have gotten this far without all of you and your support.

“Our last day of service will be Sunday, August 4th. All catering orders that we have committed to this week will be fulfilled. We ask that you please use up your gift cards before Sunday, while we are still here. We understand this is last minute, but unfortunately, we don’t have the choice to stay open any longer. We hope to see you before we go, but if we don’t get the chance, we just want to say thank you again for the last two years. We appreciate all of you.”

The BBQ spot is known for Texas inspired BBQ with a New England flair. They also feature pit roast beef sandwiches with chef inspired toppings.
