Officers of the Braintree Police, Boston Police, Massachusetts State Police Police Violent Fugitive Apprehension Section and Gang Unit, and US Marshal Service, arrested Julius Hammond-Desir for shooting and killing Dijoun Beasley in January at the South Shore Plaza.
Braintree Police say that while inside the Forever 21 store at the mall, Hammond-Desir approached the victim, brandished a firearm and fired. The victim was transported to a Boston area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Samantha Schwartz of Attleboro pleaded not guilty late last month after being accused of being an accessory-after-the-fact of the murder.
Hammond-Desir’s arraignment in Quincy District Court is expected as soon as late morning today, dependent on court process. At this hour his arrest is being processed at the Braintree Police Department.
