Dartmouth, MA…Today Bristol County Sheriff Tom Hodgson announced that he will partner with the city of Taunton to help clean up Lake Sabbatia.

Hodgson will be attending the meeting at the Lafayette Club with Mayor Shaunna O’Connell and City Councilor John McCaul on Monday to partner with the City on having inmates assist in cleaning up the pond. The 248-acre lake has been negatively impacted by aquatic weeds.

“I want to thank Mayor O’Connell and City Councilor John McCaul for making this clean up project a priority. As the Sheriff, I want to do our part to tackle this long standing problem by partnering with the city to provide help from the inmates,” said Hodgson. “This is a win win partnership. It helps clean up Taunton’s Lake Sabbatia while providing inmates a way to make a positive impact in the community.”

Hodgson has often partnered with communities to have inmates provide assistance which has included shoveling out non-profits and seniors and performing odd jobs for Bristol County communities.
