A local woman who died after she was hit by a vehicle in Rhode Island is being remembered.

According to police, on Monday, at just after 9:30 p.m., an officer of the Smithfield Police Department located a female bicyclist who was struck by a vehicle in the area of 140 Pleasant View Avenue.

Upon arrival, the police learned that the female fell off of her bicycle and was struck by a tractor-trailer truck travelling southbound on Pleasant View Avenue.

The female bicyclist was identified as 25-year-old Aliana Ciacciarelli of Smithfield, Rhode Island

The truck and its operator in the incident have since been identified, however, police have not released any additional information.

According to a scholarship GoFundMe fundraiser, Ciacciarelli was caring, thoughtful, compassionate, a hard worker, and always put everyone before herself which made the nursing profession perfect for her.

Providence College will be opening their first nursing program in early 2025, and from day one, the Ciacciarelli Family states that they would like to begin a scholarship in Ali’s name to help nursing students.

Relatives and friends are invited to Ciacciarelli Mass of Christian Burial, Wednesday, July 10, 2024, at 10am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial will be private.

The collision is still under investigation.

We loved working at the village on waterman lake with sweet Ali. So thoughtful, kind and caring beautiful woman. May you fly high sweet Ali. You’ll be missed by all of the lives you touched so gently. Prayers for your family and friends. This has been so heartbreaking for all that had the wonderful opportunity to have known you.
