Second $30 million+ Mega Millions jackpot prize claimed in Massachusetts in a week

DORCHESTER, MA (March 8, 2023) – A $31 million Mega Millions jackpot prize won in a multi-state game’s drawing has been claimed in Massachusetts. The second in a week.

S & L Trust, represented by trustee Leo J. Cushing, chose the cash option on its prize and received a one-time payment of $16,542,158 (before taxes). The prize was claimed Wednesday, March 8 at Massachusetts State Lottery headquarters in Dorchester for the drawing that was held on Tuesday, January 31.

The winning numbers on the lucky Quic Pic ticket that was purchased at Gibbs located at 107 Winn Street in Woburn were 07-09-18-29-39, MegaBall 13. Gibbs receives a $50,000 bonus for its sale of the winning ticket.

A $33 million Mega Millions jackpot prize won in the January 24, 2023 drawing on a ticket sold in Belchertown was claimed by Skylark Group Trust on Wednesday March 1.

This is only the second time in Mega Millions history that one lottery has had two jackpot winners in a span of three drawings.

These are the fourth and fifth Mega Millions jackpots won in Massachusetts since 2002, when the game expanded and its name was changed from The Big Game to Mega Millions.

The largest jackpot ever won in any game in Massachusetts is a $758.7 million Powerball jackpot won in the August 23, 2017 drawing. That ticket was sold at Pride Station & Store in Chicopee.
