Scooter rider killed after two vehicle crash in Norton
One person has been killed after a two vehicle accident on Monday.
According to Norton Police, at approximately 9:20 p.m., Norton Police and Fire Departments responded to the area of 34 North Worcester Street for a report of a motor vehicle crash with injuries. Upon arrival, officers observed a bystander performing CPR on a male in the middle of the roadway. Police and fire personnel immediately rendered first aid, however, 28-year-old Mark Sullivan, from Norton, was pronounced deceased on scene shortly after.
Sullivan was riding a scooter, traveling on North Worcester Street. The other vehicle involved in the crash, a gray Honda Accord operated by an 18-year-old from Norton, was also traveling on North Worcester Street when the two vehicles collided in the area of 34 North Worcester Street.
That area of North Worcester Street was closed for approximately four hours due to the crash.
The other operator was not injured in the crash.
No charges have been filed at this time.
The crash remains under investigation by Norton Police, the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Bristol District Attorney’s Office, Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Services Section and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
