Fall River, MA – As the budget season approaches, a School Committee member has proposed the creation of a volunteer Government Efficiency Czar position for Fall River Public Schools, and he has a recommendation on who should hold it.

According to Collin Dias, the goal is to help ensure that taxpayer dollars are being spent in the most efficient way possible by identifying opportunities for reducing costs and eliminating wasteful spending within Fall River Public Schools.

Dias proposes that the appointment for this role should be Gabriel “Boomer” Amaral.

This appointment could be considered as soon as Monday or during the March School Committee meeting.

“As a member of the School Committee, I am always looking for any way to make Fall River Public Schools more efficient for everyone,” said Dias. “This includes fostering a culture where all policies are followed and ensuring that we have a government structure that works effectively for students, staff, and the entire community. Boomer Amaral has the right experience, and his appointment would be a great step in creating a more efficient and effective system for our schools. If approved, the appointment of Boomer Amaral would be a significant contribution to the continued improvement of Fall River Public Schools.”
