School committee/city council forums and mayoral debate to take place ahead of Fall River Municipal Election

Fall River, October 3, 2023 … To give voters an opportunity to hear from the candidates, Fall River Community Media is hosting forums with candidates for school committee and city council and a debate featuring the candidates running for mayor in this year’s Fall River Municipal Election.

On Tuesday, October 10 at 6:30 p.m., the candidates for school committee will take part in a 90-minute forum. The forum will air live on FRCMedia Channel 95, Fall River Educational Television (FREDTV) Channel 9 and on the FRCMedia and Fall River Reporter Facebook pages.

On Thursday, October 12 at 6:30 p.m., incumbent Mayor Paul Coogan and former Mayor and Bristol County District Attorney Sam Sutter will take part in a one-hour mayoral debate. The debate will air live on FRCMedia Channel 95, Fall River Government Television (FRGTV) Channel 18, WSAR Radio and on the FRCMedia and Fall River Reporter Facebook pages.

On Tuesday, October 17, two 90-minute panels of candidates running for city council will be held. The first panel forum will begin at 6:00 p.m. with the second panel beginning at 8:00 p.m. The forum will air live on FRCMedia Channel 95, FRGTV Channel 18 and on the FRCMedia and Fall River Reporter Facebook pages.

FRCMedia Director Keith Thibault will serve as moderator and journalists from FRGTV, WSAR and Fall River Reporter will question the candidates.
